Ricardo Fernandes is a Portuguese composer and musical director based in London.
His work as a composer has seen him gain commissions for a number of short and feature films, including multi-award-winning short film Retribution Day. As an orchestrator, clients include Amazon, Activision, Sony, BBC, and many others. His orchestrations were recently heard on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Have You Heard George’s Podcast? Season 4 for the BBC as well as Maclaine Diemer’s score for Wildgate, under lead orchestrator Evan Rogers.
Additionally, Ricardo worked on the music prep and copying teams, under head of music prep Tristan Noon, on projects such as Symphony of Lungs by Florence + The Machine, An Evening with Dua Lipa: Live from the Royal Albert Hall, and the Amazon Studios film Heads of State.
His musical direction and performance work as also led him to prestigious cabaret venus such as the Phoenix Arts Club, The Pheasantry, and The Crazy Coqs.
As the current resident musical director of the Mill Hill Musical Theatre Company, as well as the Adam Street Singers, Ricardo leads an active performing life. Other institutions with which he works include Wokingham Theatre, University College London and the Sevenoaks Players
A long time memeber of the choral training team at Berkshire Music Trust, he’s on the training team for Berkshire Youth Choir and the lead accompanist of the Berkshire Youth Training Choir. Ricardo is a Scholar of the Royal College of Music, the institution from which he holds a Master’s degree in Composition.
